Neutrum.oft

Neutrum.otf exploit the innocence of Machine learning to reduce to its minimum human biases and generate a set of genderless glyphs. With this new font, we want to bring attention to gender definition and free minds from its oppression.

Neutrom.oft is a digital font that can be installed and used on any computer and the users can use the new symbols as an alternative stylistic set of the asterisk. It is meant to be used for written latin languages, not spoken.

Many have attempted to reinvent latin based languages to remove the gender constraints that have emerged in each of them throughout time. Currently, people use different glyphs to avoid gender definition in their written text such as ‘ _ * @ ə x. But these glyphs are meant for a different purpose.

The aim of our project isn’t to revolutionise the latin languages, but to bring attention to this issue and open people’s minds.

To make the experience more immersive when it comes to the prints, we added an AR application. We want this feature to trigger curiosity to generate more interest in our message.
